Fundamentals of Mathematics for Geosciences II

Multivariable functions, scalar and vector fields
Partial derivatives
Vector analysis
Multiple integrals
Partial differential equations (basic definitions)
Complex numbers
Fourier series I
Fourier series II
Statistical tests I
Statistical tests II
Correlation and regression I
Correlation and regression II
Cluster analysis
Exam preparation

Competences:

1) Students can solve basic mathematical tasks and problems related to geosciences
2) Students can use special mathematical methods which are important for the geoscientific working practice
3) Students have a basic understanding of mathematical modelling of simple physical or geoscientific problems
4) Students can apply statistical methods to geoscientific data
