Consequences of Global Change

Lecturers: Torsten Bickert

Content:

This seminar deals with current topics from the area of the marine environment, which are prepared by the participating students and then presented and discussed. Main topics are the role of the ocean for climate change as well as the use of the ocean by humans and the resulting consequences.

Competences:

In addition to the discussion of a selected, current topic from the field of the marine environment, the participants can quickly familiarize themselves with a given scientific topic after the event using the methods presented and present it comprehensively using independent research in order to withstand a critical discussion.

Assessment:

50% written essay on a selected topic
50% presentation and discussion of the topic

Exam Form:

Presentation with written elaboration

Literature:

Suitable sources should be found by the students themselves

1st Day: Introduction, motivation, selection of topics
2nd Day: Tutrial for the selected topics
3rd Day: preparation of presentation
4th Day: workout the essays
