Current Topics in Geobiology

Lecturers: Solveig Bühring, Kai-Uwe Hinrichs, Florence Schubotz

Content:

This seminar will deepen the knowledge on current topics in the broader field of Geobiology based on the study and discussion of publications. The papers to be discussed will thematically correspond as much as possible to the contents taught during the accompanying lecture. During each seminar all students will discuss a set of papers; additionally one student will give a presentation about the week`s topic.

Competences:

Ability to critically analyze publications.
Overview of the state-of-the-art in Geobiology.
Prepare accessible presentations and stimulate discussion.

Assessment:

Students will be graded for their presentation and leadership of the discussion.

Exam Form:

seminar paper

Literature:

Examples from the current literature; topics will correspond thematically to topics of the weekly lecture.
