Materials Analysis II
Lecturers: Iris Spieß
This course is a continuation of Materials Analysis I. It covers additional methods of instrumental analytics,e.g. ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV/Vis), computed tomography (µ-CT) spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method (BET), sample preparation, performing of measurements and evaluation of the result.
The students understand the basics and principles of instrumental analytics and they know how to evaluate results.
The students gain basic analytical skills and get acquainted with application fields and limitations of various analytical methods.
The students know the fundamentals of selected analytical methods in the field of spectroscopy, imaging techniques and surface analytics.
Written exam is compulsory and the submission of reports is voluntary, but complete number of successfully certified reports will increase the final grade by one level.
