Seismic Interpretation Project with a Commercial Software Package

Lecturers: Hanno Keil, Nikolas Römer-Stange, Tilmann Schwenk, Volkhard Spieß

Content:

The course deals with marine survey methods with a focus on seismic and acoustic data analysis and interpretation. Case studies from hydrocarbon exploration as well as GeoB research projects on fluid and gas migration will be interpreted and discussed.

Competences:

Advanced seismic and interpretation techniques, using the commercial KINGDOM SUITE software package . Selected research data sets are used.
Candidates need advanced background in geophysics and at least basic knowledge in seismoacoustics to successfully pass this course.

Assessment:

Candidates need advanced background in geophysics and at least basic knowledge in seismoacoustics to successfully pass this course.
For evaluation, reports of small projects have to be submitted.
