Master Program Applied Geosciences
Programme structure

Mandatory Module, 1rst year:

  • Mapping Course for Advanced Students

Elective modules, 1rst year:

Choose 1 or 3 out of 3 modules related to professionalization and complementary competences:

  • Advanced Digital Competences (6 CP)
  • Field and Lab Practice (6 CP)
  • Complementary Competences (6 CP) e.g. Economics, Languages, Law

Choose 3 or 4 out of the following core subjects:

  • Hydrogeology (2 modules, 12 CP)
  • Engineering Geology (2 modules, 12 CP)
  • Applied Sedimentology (2 Module, 12 CP)
  • Applied Petrology (2 modules, 12 CP)
  • Applied Geophysics (2 modules, 12 CP)
  • Renewable Energy Ressources (2 modules, 12 CP)
  • Glaciology (2 modules, 12 CP)
  • Geohazards (2 modules, 12 CP)

  • Possibility to take classes from other master programs

If 3 core subjects are taken, 3 modules from the area of professionalization and complementary competences must be chosen; if 4 core subjects are chosen, only one module out of this area must be completed.

It is possible to replace one of the core subjects from the Master`s program Marine Geosciences or by choosing 12 CP from the Master`s programs Environmental Physics or Environmental History.

Mandatory modules, 2nd year:

  • Geoscientific Project Exercise (15 CP)
  • Geoscientific Research Seminar (15 CP)
  • Master Thesis (30 CP)
