05-MCM-DA Multiple (Large) Dataset Analysis

Signal processing basics, relevant statistical parameters, Data manipulation, Fourier-Transforms and their pitfalls, Autocorrelation. The lecture will present the theory in detail, which will then be applied by the students in the exercises on real data sets with self written SCILab scripts.
Upon successful completion of the module the participants are able to understand important statistical parameters.
They can write simple SCILab scripts and Excel sheets and they can encode formulas on their own.
They can analyse large data sets with self-written scripts (SciLAB, read data, manipulate data, write the results in a file).
They are able to interpret and understand the meaning of statistical parameters describing the data.
