05-MAG-AP1 Crustal Dynamics and Reservoir Formation
Beauftragte/r Cornelia Spiegel-Behnke
This module deals with the structural, tectonic and thermal evolution of the earth´s upper crust and its relationship to basin formation and hydrocarbon generation. Different methods for quantifying exhumation, weathering and erosion of rocks and thermal maturity of sediments will be introduced.
Have a better understanding of interrelations between large-scale tectonic processes and reservoir formation
Gain knowledge on state-of-the-art methods for quantifying denudation and subsidence of the upper crust
Identify crustal deformation patterns by optical microscopy
Obtain expertise in thermal history modelling
