EGU’s Outstanding Poster Award (OSPP) for Ricarda Rohlfs

2018-11-28
Author: Prof. Dr. Andreas Lüttge

Ricarda Rohlfs has received one of EGU’s outstanding poster awards (OSPP) for her presentation at this year´s EGU conference in Vienna. Ms. Rohlfs has received her M.Sc. in the international master program “Materials Chemistry and Mineralogy” at the University of Bremen. Her EGU poster 2018 is based on Voronoi techniques and presents a method she developed as part of her thesis for simulating the reaction kinetics of a dissolving crystal surface. Her work aims for improving our abilities to upscale molecular processes. Ricarda is currently a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Luttge. She works on the RESKIN project (Reaction Kinetics in Reservoir Rocks) funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Her main research interests are algorithm design and computational modelling of water-rock interaction, reaction kinetics and the prediction of complex surface processes. Ricarda´s EGU award is one of the shining example of what our students can accomplish and how competitive they can be.
