Corona crisis 2020 - effects on teaching and studies at FB 5


On these pages you will find hints and regulations on how teaching and studying at the Department of Geosciences will be changed due to the corona crisis from Easter 2020 onwards. We will publish updates to keep you up to date at irregular intervals.

Entrance to the Geo-Building

Until 31.10.2020, access to the building remains restricted to those entitled to it.

Please do not forget: All visitors to the GEO-building must have a valid day ticket, which must be requested via krankmeldung@geo.uni-bremen.de.
A day ticket must be sent to the email krankmeldung@geo.uni-bremen.de at the latest one working day in advance by 12:00 noon. Applications received too late can no longer be considered !!

The building can still only be entered via the depot (Betriebshof) on the GEO-building's backside.

Submission of Dissertations

Important notice from the Doctoral Examination Board regarding the submission of dissertations for review. All those without access to the GEO building can now submit their dissertations by internal or external mail to Mr. Siemers.

In order to avoid unnecessary delays, please remember to carefully examine the formal aspects of the dissertation.

Update Apr. 22, 2020

The University of Bremen has provided a campus licence for the video conferencing tool "Zoom". Teachers have access and invite their students to the videomeeting.

From 04 May onwards there will be access to laboratories and offices again for a defined group of people. The course rooms will remain closed at least until Whitsun.

Update Apr. 17, 2020

The University of Bremen will continue to maintain emergency operation from 20.04.2020. Students and most of the staff members are not allowed to enter the University.
