A journey to the prehistoric Neanderthal and Cromagnon archaeological sites in the Vézère Valley (Dordogne) in France. Part of the lecture will provide an insight into the extraordinary historical background to the discoveries and excavations in the Vèzère valley. Contemporary references to the Übersee-Museum and the Geosciences Collection of the University of Bremen will also be shown.
