lecturer: Prof. Jochen Kuss
From the rolling hills of the Thuringian Forest to the deep gorges of the Harz Mountains, Thuringia has an exciting geology to offer. Spectacular fossil finds have also been made in Thuringia, making the state a mecca for palaeontologists. The Bromacker fossil site is world-famous and the comparison with similar deposits in the USA is particularly exciting, but there are also many other interesting fossils to admire. Jochen Kuss is deeply rooted in the geology of Thuringia and is passionate about sharing his knowledge in this lecture. He guides through the often complicated processes of the earth`s history, explains the significance of fossil finds and sheds light on how they have changed our view of Thuringia`s past and the entire geological context.
