As part of the lecture series “Expedition Erde” Part XXII, Dr. Torsten Bickert will be giving a generally understandable lecture entitled “Antarktisches Zwischenwasser und die Bioproduktion vor Mauretanien - ein Bericht von MERIAN-Expedition MSM 116” on Wednesday 26 February at 16:00.

Fire and ice - this could perhaps be the theme of the 22nd edition of the “Expedition Erde” series of events. This part does not build on the previous series of events, but offers new topics that stand on their own. The lectures cover topics from Antarctica, Germany and Madeira.

05. März: Geologie des Antarktischen Kontinents (Prof. Dr. Frank Lisker)
12. März: Geschiebefossilien - die eiszeitliche Reise der Versteinerungen (Prof. Dr. Jens Lehmann)
19. März: Kreidefelsen von Rügen und ihre eiszeitliche Überprägung (Dr. Torsten Bickert)
