- Fundamentals in surface science, crystal surfaces, and mineral reactions
- Specific, exemplary applications
- Construction of phase diagrams
- Crystallization paths
- Melting processes
- Solid solutions
- Phase transformations

Learning Outcome

The students will be able to understand the basic principles of crystal surfaces, surface roughness, reactivity, and the reactions that alter crystal surfaces.

180 hours / 6 CP
Mineral surfaces and reactions
• time for lectures and excercises (2 SWS x 14 weeks) 28 h

Thermodynamics in mineral sciences
