At the start of the 2025/26 winter semester, the leadership of the Department of Geosciences will be transferred from Dean Prof. Simone Kasemann to the newly elected Dean Prof. Thomas Pichler; Prof. Katrin Huhn-Frehers will remain Dean of Studies. Prof. Simone Kasemann (Deputy Dean) and Dr. Marcus Elvert (Deputy Dean of Studies) were elected as deputies. The new Dean´s Office will have no shortage of important tasks to tackle in the near future; among other things, the reaccreditation of our study programs is due in spring 2028.
