From Earth Science to Construction Industry - Developing a Career outside Academia

Geo-Colloquium at November 20, 2024, 12.15 GEO Lecture Hall

2024-11-06
Author: Dr. Ulrike Wolf-Brozio

On November 20, STRABAG Umwelttechnik GmbH and its subsidiary Sensor Dichtungskontrollsysteme GmbH will be presenting at the Geo-Colloquium. Dr. Nina Lesic and Dr. Daniel Döpke, both alumni of the Faculty of Geosciences, will be present. STRABAG Umwelttechnik GmbH combines expertise in contaminated site remediation and land recycling, environmental engineering plant construction, landfill construction and the processing and use of secondary raw materials and urban mining. The geoelectric seal monitoring systems from Sensor DKS GmbH were developed in the early 1990s for the precise detection and localization of leaks in seals. They are used worldwide on landfills, storage areas and in reservoirs and tunnels as well as on flat roofs. Both companies have a branch in Bremen. After the presentation, questions about career entry and internship opportunities can be put to the speakers. We look forward to a large number of faculty members and students attending. The presentation language is English.
