Thank you very much, Andreas Lüttge!

2024-10-02
Author: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bach

September 30, 2024 was his last day as head of the Mineralogy department at our faculty. From now on, Andreas Lüttge will spend his time at Lake Constance and devote more time to his family and his hobby. He leaves behind a state-of-the-art research laboratory, which he began setting up immediately after taking up his post in 2012. Andreas´ passion as a researcher was the kinetics of reactions at the interface between solids and aqueous solutions. He has made groundbreaking research contributions in this field, which will continue to be important in geochemistry and materials science for a long time to come. As a representative or chairman in various committees, he has provided very valuable services to the department over the years. The students on the MCM course also held him in high esteem. They always followed his lectures with great interest, and many wrote their theses under Andreas´ guidance. We will miss Andreas very much as a researcher and, above all, as a person and wish him all the best for the new phase of his life.
