May I introduce? Our scholarship holders of the Deutschlandstipendium

Our scholarship holders
Hannes is in his fifth bachelor´s semester and has been receiving the Deutschlandstipendium since the beginning of his studies. He already applied for the scholarship before he started his studies and thanks to his A-levels and his social engagement in the church as well as a voluntary social year (FSJ) he already received the acceptance in the first November of his studies. The 300 € per month help him to get along well. He was able to quit one of his part-time jobs as a result. So far, he has made little use of the numerous networking opportunities offered by the scholarship provider - especially because of Corona.
Greta gets the scholarship from the 3rd bachelor semester. She is now in the master´s program and had to reapply at the beginning of the master´s program - all no problem with an A-levels high school diploma and a bachelor´s degree of 1 as well as social commitment in the church and a completed FSJ. Greta has also already integrated a year abroad into her studies and thus studied longer. The scholarship was also paid to her for the 7th bachelor semester. From the offer of the scholarship provider she uses above all the possibility of being able to visit concerts for free. She participated in a blog during the Corona period where scholarship recipients talk about themselves and their experiences.
Sanway has come to Bremen to study for a master´s degree. He has already applied for the scholarship from his home country of India. He needs the money to make ends meet. His bachelor´s grades are very good, and his social commitment is multiple. He has already worked for several NGOs, volunteered in environmental protection and care for the elderly. He does not attend the scholarship provider´s events much - much is in German, for international students there may be a printed English text. A propo international students: Sanway counts 30 scholarship holders at the scholarship award event for master students at the University of Bremen, 5-6 of them international students.
Deutschlandstipendium: A scholarship is awarded to students who show special talents and social commitment. At the University of Bremen, more than 100 Deutschlandstipendiat scholarship holders volunteer in a variety of ways. A total of 13 Bremen foundations participate in the Deutschlandstipendium program.
The Deutschlandstipendium has been in existence for 12 years. In addition to outstanding academic performance - and this is a special feature of the award criteria at the University of Bremen - the selection process takes into account community and social commitment, personal initiative and special personal circumstances, such as caring for children or family members, a non-academic family background or an immigrant background.
The charm of the scholarship is also that it is not an anonymous sponsorship. Sponsors and scholarship holders take the opportunity to get to know each other personally and exchange ideas already at the award ceremony.
In addition to the monthly scholarship of 300 euros, the scholarship holders can expect an attractive accompanying program. Active participation in the scholarship groups and an interest in exchanging ideas with the sponsors are expected.
The Deutschlandstipendium is the largest public-private scholarship program in Germany and supports young talents at state universities and state-recognized universities in Germany. Private sponsors contribute 150 euros, while the federal government contributes the other half. Would you also like to be one of the sponsors?
