Application for the international Master Program Marine Geosciences


Please note: Admission ist restricted to 50 places from WiSe 2019/20 on!

Application Procedure

For the master program Marine Geosciences you have to apply online until 30st of April.
We accept beginners only for the winter semester. Only in case of admission you have to hand in certified copies at the admission department (SfS-I). Missing language proficiency proofs and bachelor degree certificates can be hand in after starting studying until the end of the second week of the lecture period.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (180 ECTS CP) in a geoscientific major
  • at least 30 ECTS CP in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and/or Biology
  • at least 60 ECTS CP in Geosciences
  • very good command of English (level C1)
  • strong interest in marine geoscientific issues
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • in field trips: resilience and intercultural competence

Application Documents

  • application of admission
  • letter of intent (about 1 DinA 4 page, referring to program choice and your own career perspectives)
  • curriculum vitae in a tabular form
  • bachelor degree, if already completed, + other university degree certificates (if any)
  • current transcript of records (all modules/courses taken with grades and study points/CP) with at least 132 CP
  • English proficiency proof of level C1 after the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (s. link on the right). For those, who have acquired their university entrance qualification or another university degree in English do not need to submit the language proof.
  • two recommendation letters for those, who haven't received their bachelor degree in Germany (s. link on the right)
