Theory of X-ray diffraction; Application of powder X-ray diffraction for quantitative phase analysis and structure refinement (Rietveld Analysis); Application of analytical methods in mineralogy, e.g., electron microprobe analysis, atomic force microscopy

Learning Outcomes, Targeted Competencies:

The students understand the theoretical foundations of X-ray diffraction
The students are able to apply methods of quantitative phase analysis and structure refinement based on powder diffraction data
The students are able to apply mineralogical methods of analysis
