Just click on the colored icons, and beautiful pop-up windows with lots of information will open. You can even search by multiple categories by clicking on the filter icon on the left side. From the geology of our highest mountains or the origin of beautiful geological formations to unique biogeochemical processes at hydrothermal vents. Geologists have seen it all, and in this globe, we compiled amazing pictures, informative texts about the most important facts, and the current research. Over time, we aim to create an extensive collection of intriguing sites to not only educate, but also inspire people to explore our beautiful planet. This interactive 3D Globe was created by Janina Groninga for her project in the masters program "Marine Geoscience" of the University of Bremen, motivated by the amazing "Globe the extremes" developed by John Nelson and Raluca Nicola.
