Material Properties and Downhole Measurements

Lecturers: Sebastian Uhlemann

Content:

Material properties can be determined by various geophysical methods in the laboratory as well as in boreholes. They provide key information to interprete geophysical data from potential fields and wave propagation. Basic physical laws and principles are introduced including empirical relationships.

Competences:

Overview over physical properties of geologic materials, both unconsolidated and rocks.Physical principles of lab and downhole measurements. Scientific drilling approaches. Integration of various data sets for rock characterization.
